The healing power of the local thermal springs is very effective especially in curing the following diseases: osteoporosis, diseases of the locomotive aparatus, inactive stages of chronic arthritis, lumbago, gout, rheumatism, digestive disorders, post-accident treatment, orthopaedic and neurosurgical post-operative rehabilitation, chronic gynaecological and urological inflammations, chronic gastric catarh, or ulcer disorders. Buk is the youngest health resort in Hungary situated near the Austrian border, only 122 km from Vienna and 220 km from Budapest. The story of the healing springs in this area began in 1976, when the oil seekers working here were rewarded with a 60 m high water fountain. The healing water with a temperature of 58°C has an enormously high content of calcium, magnesium and fluorine as well as carbonic acid gas. To the best sights in the Buk surroundings belong the castle Szapáry, the nearby situated Kőszeg - one of the prettiest historical towns in Hungary, Velem - climatic center with exceptional and refreshing air, or Szombathely – town inhabited from Roman times with many architectonic sights including the famous temple of the goddess Isis. Healing spa treatment is suitable for curing the disorders of the locomotive organs, for post-accident therapy and for treatment of the spine disorders. Drinking procedures are recommended in cases of digestive problems or stomach hyperacidity. The healing springs have the curing effects themselves, but its appropriate application is also very important. Healing procedures are offered in a wide variety – from medical check-ups, to complex treatments including hydro-, electro- or physiotherapy, curative gymnastics, different massages, laser, ultrasound, traction. The hotel is situated in the northern part of the Vas region near the Alps. It has 165 double-bed rooms, 8 apartments, 4 VIP apartments with whirlpool, 6+6 family rooms and 2 special rooms for disabled guests (with room for accompanying people). All rooms are air-conditioned and have a bathroom, toilet, TV, telephone, minibar, safe box and internet connection.
