Situated in the heart of Tongariro National Park, Skotel Alpine Resort offers a restaurant, a hot tub and a terrace bar with a fireplace. Most accommodation boasts stunning mountain or region views. The highest hotel in New Zealand, Skotel Alpine is 10 minutes’ drive from the Whakapapa Ski Fields. Tongariro Alpine Crossing is 20 minutes’ drive away. Accommodation options include rooms with an en suite bathroom and dormitories with shared bathroom facilities. All accommodation includes access to the shared kitchen and lounge area. The Terrace Restaurant offers stunning views of Mt Tongariro and Mt Ngauruhoe and features an à la carte menu which includes pork belly, braised venison and bacon and mushroom pie. Guests can relax in the sauna or enjoy a game of billiards or table tennis in the shared lounge. Ski facilities on site include a ski shop and ski drying room.
